How Clear Orthodontic Aligners Work
Orthodontic aligners are removable clear plastic mouth trays that are designed to stimulate the movement of teeth. With each new tray, the next phase of orthodontic movement is accomplished. The sequence is completed until your treatment goal is reached.
Dr. Anderson plans your orthodontic treatment using our 3D digital impressions and CBCT radiography. 3D imaging software provides him with the information and tools to view a digital replica of your teeth, jaw bones and facial structures. He applies his years of experience and training to plot the required teeth movement to reach your destination, a straighter smile.
Once your plan is complete, Dr. Anderson will review the expected results with you and order your aligners from our orthodontic laboratory.
Depending on your specific orthodontic needs, your clear orthodontic aligner treatment may take 6-18 months to complete. Dr. Anderson recommends that you wear your orthodontic aligner for most of the day and while you sleep to stay on track with your teeth movement. Over the treatment period, we will see you every few weeks to check your progress and deliver your new aligner.
